WCPT (World Confederation for Physical Therapy), of which the Polish Chamber of Physiotherapists has been a member since January 2020, sent a letter to the Minister of Health and the presidents of the National Health Fund and the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System. In the letter, it writes about the role of physiotherapy in Poland during the COVID-19 pandemic, appreciates the activities of the Polish Chamber of Physiotherapists in a crisis situation and, citing examples from other countries, recommends the implementation of telerehabilitation as soon as possible.
The author of the letter, Jonathon Kruger – WCPT Chief Executive Officer states: ‘Now and in the coming month’s telerehabilitation will be an important tool in allowing physiotherapists to rise to the challenge of this unprecedented situation and prevent functional decline. Therefore to prevent a public health emergency in the months ahead I urge your government to allow this type of physiotherapy service to be provided now’.
